Refund Policy

We want you to be happy with Obol. If you're not, the short version is: first charge, seven days, full refund, no questions asked. The rest of this page covers edge cases.
7-day money-back guarantee
If you pay for a Pro subscription for the first time and change your mind within 7 calendar days of the initial charge, email us via the contact page with your subscription ID and transaction ID — we'll refund the full amount to the original payment method.
This applies once per account, on your first Pro subscription. Subsequent renewals (monthly or annual) are not covered by this guarantee.
Monthly plans
You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period — the service has already been rendered (usage sync, exports, cron alerts, widget polling, forecasting). Your Pro access continues until the end of the paid period, then the account reverts to the Free plan.
Annual plans
Annual plans are priced to give you two months free compared to twelve monthly payments. Because of that discount we do not pro-rate refunds for annual plans beyond the 7-day window — pro-rating would unwind the discount.
You can cancel an annual subscription at any time; Pro access continues until the end of the paid year, then reverts to Free.
What is not refundable
- Subscription renewals — any charge after the first payment on an account.
- Payments older than 7 days from the initial charge date.
- Accounts terminated for violating the Terms of Service (abuse, scraping, chargeback fraud, credential-sharing, etc.).
- Payments already reversed via chargeback — the dispute process replaces this policy once it starts.
How to request a refund
Use the contact page and include:
- The email address on your Obol account.
- The payment transaction ID — pay_* from the Razorpay confirmation email.
- A brief reason (optional — required only for feedback, not for approval).
We aim to respond within 2 business days and initiate approved refunds within 3 business days of approval.
When the money actually arrives
Once a refund is initiated, the payment gateway handles the settlement back to your card, UPI, or bank account. Typical processing times after we initiate:
- UPI and wallets: 2–5 business days.
- Credit / debit cards: 5–10 business days.
- Net banking: 5–10 business days.
We refund the full amount paid. Any payment-gateway fees (around 2% + GST on Razorpay) are absorbed on our side, not deducted from your refund.
Tax handling
For refunds processed through Razorpay, any tax component (GST or otherwise) is reversed along with the base amount when the refund is processed within the same tax month. Refunds spanning a prior tax month may be reversed net-of-tax, consistent with applicable tax rules — please contact us if this affects you.
Free trial
The 7-day desktop-widget trial and the 3-per-30-days CSV/JSON export quota on the Free plan are not paid products and are not covered by this refund policy — there is nothing to refund.
Please talk to us before a chargeback
If something's wrong with your subscription, email us first. We can almost always resolve billing disputes directly and faster than a chargeback. Chargebacks opened without first contacting support, or chargebacks we consider fraudulent, will result in the associated account being terminated and the outstanding balance being handed to collections.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time. Changes apply to new subscriptions and renewals from the effective date forward — we won't retroactively change the refund terms on an already-paid subscription.
